1400 years ago people thought that wind can push people around however nobody believed that wind can snap trees. Today we know that this is false. Category 5 storms can uproot or snap trees.

In category 5 storms virtually all trees are uprooted or snapped. This was only known recently, however this was portrayed in the Quran 1400 years before it was discovered.
٦ وَأَمَّا عَادٌ فَأُهْلِكُوا بِرِيحٍ صَرْصَرٍ عَاتِيَةٍ
٧ سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ سَبْعَ لَيَالٍ وَثَمَانِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُومًا فَتَرَى الْقَوْمَ فِيهَا صَرْعَىٰ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ خَاوِيَةٍ
The wind snapped the trunks of palm trees leaving behind empty stumps. Today we know that this is possible in category 5 storms.
How could an illiterate man who lived 1400 years ago have known that wind can snap trees?
